International student conference Model United Nations – MOSTIUMN 2009 was held in Mostar from 02 to 04 April 2009.
The Conference was held in the Government of FBiH building in Mostar and Mostar Cultural Center. During the Conference 95 students from BiH and abroad took over roles of diplomats and simulated the work of different UN councils. Students which arrived from all over the world simulated the work of Security Council, Economic and Social Council and Human Rights Council. Also the General Assembly meeting was held with participation of all UN member states.
Within different councils certain topics were discussed such as continuation of negotiations in BiH, situation in Iraq, Palestine, etc. The special aim of this Conference was to bring young people together and hold open discussions on sensitive political topics in a city which has suffered terribly from the conflict.
