The Community Centers Program is based on the principles of involving all the representatives of the local community in the educational process. This is achieved through defining and collating the needs and potentials within the community in order to improve the quality of life of each individual and the community as a whole.
Activities of the Community Centers are directed towards using the existing resources in order to encourage the use of the existing infrastructure and expertise in the local communities. With these activities, the Community Centers strengthen cooperation between schools and communities, local and regional initiatives and the State representatives with the aim of linking both the formal and informal educational processes.
The Community Centers Program has been implemented in Gradacac, Hrasnica and Srebrenica since 2001.
Three new centers in the Tuzla Canton joined the Open Centers Program in November 2002:
